Material Information
- Title:
- Tree Trimming
Notes
- General Note:
- Four of the six London Plane trees that line the mall (later Aadland Esplanade) are being trimmed by contractors. These trees were cut down October 20, 2007 to clear the way for the new science building. The main factors involved in the treesimmediate removal lay underground. The root structures of these trees stretched 30 to 50 feet under the site of the new building. To complete the digging for the foundation, these roots had to be severed. The remaining roots would have likely begun to grow toward the esplanade seeking nutrients and water.
