Material Information
- Title:
- Burial of Wesley Everest
- Publication Date:
- 11/1/1919
Notes
- General Note:
- Wobbly prisoners built the wood casket, seen here being lowered into the ground by Everest's fellow wobblies. Tacoma Guardmen stand watch at the gravesite near the southwest corner of the Sticklin cemetery in the pauper's section. The "Hoquiam Washingtonian" reported there were no prayers and no service of any nature when the body was lowered into the grave. There was no headstone until many years later when a private citizen had one placed at the gravesite.
