Notes

General Note:
This affidavit sworn in Multnomah County, Oregon on December 30, 1936 is Claude Clifford's eyewitness account of the lynching of Wesley Everest. It became the primary source for the castration story. Since the affidavit was sworn 17 years after the event and Claude Clifford's name does not appear in any reports or documents related to the massacre, most researchers have discounted his version.
